Thank you for your patience!
Good afternoon Camp Jimmers! We are so thankful for all of the volunteers that came out this weekend to lend a hand getting the camp cleaned up after the big storm. In all we had over 40 volunteers help out. We chipped about 60 yards worth of wood, stacked over 7 cords of wood, and cut up about 60 trees. Not sure what that looks like? Check out the photo below.
We will be doing another clean up day this Saturday from 10AM-4PM (lunch will be provided). Please rsvp via the event page (follow the link below) or by calling camp at (218) 829-6767.
If you would like to come up the night before or stay the night after please call camp so we can be sure to have room for you.
We are still sorting through the financial end of the mess. We were told we would be given $2500 for tree removal work and we are already at or beyond that amount and we estimate it would take at least $1000-1500 to finish. The insurance adjuster was here to assess the damages Today. We will update you all with those numbers when they become available. If you would like to donate to camp please call us and ask how to go about doing that.
We are so grateful for your prayers and support as we continue our efforts to get the camp back to the beautiful state it once was so that it can be used to minister to those who come here once again. God Bless!
Today's work crew is moving a long nicely. We have the mess around the mini golf, the air rifle range, and most of rec field cleaned up. We just took a short break for some food and now the volunteer crews are back out at it. There is still a lot of work to be done so if you're in the area and want swing by and lend a hand for a little while you can. We will be working until 6 o'clock. So thankful for all of the people out here today and we even got a hold of a wood chipper which is making this go a lot faster. Praise God!
Tomorrow Sat Sept 6, starting at noon ending at 6 we will be doing tree and debris removal at camp. Food will be provided. If you can come out and help bring your rake, chainsaw and gloves. We will have other days open as well. Just show up and see what we can accomplish together. Thank you

Day 2 after the big storm. We are still waiting on the insurance adjuster, we cleared most of our roads and a few larger trees. This is a slow process as many trees are 80' in length, some are hung up and the shear volume of brush. Tomorrow, Sat we are looking for volunteers noon to 6 that would like to cut and haul wood, rake and clear brush. We would appreciate your help.
Hello Camp Jimmers! This morning around 7, a powerful storm rolled through the camp. It knocked over quite a few trees, we estimate about 30. For the most part the trees didn't hit anything. The Cedar lodge building project took the most damage. With it being unfinished and open the upper levels were well... leveled. It seems that all the roof trusses are a complete loss. Unfortunately, we are fairly certain this will not be covered by insurance. So please be praying for the camp as we go about deciding what to do next and that God would provide the funds to make up for the loss. If you would be interested in donating your time or money please message us on our facebook here for now as all of our other forms of communication are down until the electricity comes back on. We will post more updates and pictures as the ability to do so becomes available. Thank you so much for support.
September 4, 2014 Storm Damage
Yesterday morning a severe thunderstorm blew through the camp knocking down many large trees, tons of branches and sticks, and did damage to some of the buildings here. The worst hit area was the new Cedar Lodge building project. Just one week prior we had finished putting the roof trusses in place. We praise God though as no one was hurt and all of our main buildings came out unscathed. Please be in prayer as we sort through the mess of trees, branches, insurance paper work, and phones calls. Also for safety as us and volunteers do the work to clean up the trees. You can see a few pictures of the damage above and there will be a link to see more available soon. We will posting updates from our Facebook timeline below to keep all of you without access to that page, updated. We are so grateful for your prayers and support. If you are interested in donating your time, money, or encouragement please check out the bottom of the page for our contact info. God bless!
